STICK YOUR HANDS INTO MY PINK LUNCHBOX

Yeah, “that’s what she said”, right brother? So sayeth JOHNNY HASH on this absolutely immortal 1993 single that came out on IN THE RED, and is still vinyl-only unless you search high & low for a Japanese CD that had a bunch of old singles from the label. I love the stupid-sloppy slide guitar, the drawly vocals, the “breakdown” guitar solo, and the general garbage-blues piss take of this whole thing. One critic of low renown called it:

Drunken, animalistic slide guitar blues, backed with precision cardboard-box drumming and barked vocals. A gnarly, no-fidelity blues trash masterpiece that still makes me weep with desire for the LP that never came from these guys.

It’s genius. In fact the 45 was actually called “Blues Is Depressing” , but I feel like it’s a joyous, rapturous celebration of life the way these yokels play it. Let me know if you agree.

Yeah, I remember hearing about a big record (was it a full LP or just a 12" EP?) but I've never seen a copy. What's up with that?!?!?!?!?!?

I've got a good hour of Dan Brown material from that era on tape. Goes from lo-fi home taper solo type of stuff to Sun City Girls inspired raga to the should have been Johnny Hash 45 of "Paper Liver". I'm sure he's got a shit ton of stuff lying around as he used to record on the tascam regularly.
Also don't forget the "Summer of Cum" 7" also on in the red. There is also a pre-Johnny Hash 7" by Glory Hole that is Dan and Marty from the Hash and Brian Truman and Pat Lally, self-released in an edition of 100. It's a little more Amrep/Touch and Go but still quite mighty. Glory Hole's live shows were guaranteed lunacy due to Brian's propensity for consumption. Glad to see someone keeping the flame. If I ever get around to ripping that single I'll let you know.

in same area, pretty sure jack taylor had a solo lp recorded, too. Or maybe he played on Dan's? I seem to recall sitars and some mellow madness rather than full-on bullfuckery...

PEOPLES,
WELL THOSE DAYS WE RECORDED ON A 4 TRACK WITH OVER-DUBS AND A SHITLOAD OF BEVERAGES. JOHNNY HASH WAS DAN B. ON BASS,GUITARS AND VOCALS I PLAYED DRUMS. THE SINGLES ARE STILL AVIALABLE THROUGH OTHER VENDERS BUT NOT I.T.R. RECORDS.
THE BEYOND ROME EP IS AVAILABLE THROUGH A U.K. LABEL. THE ORIGINAL CUNT;GUY SIRMAN NEVER SENT US COPIES. JUST GOOGLE JOHNNY HASH.
WE PLAYED WITH TERRY WAHL AND ONE SMELLY MICK COLLINS WHICH BECAME THE SCREWS FIRST ALBUM. WE WERE NEVER ASKED BACK FOR THE SECOND ONE? DAN WAS IN ROYAL TRUX AT THAT TIME ANYWAY.
THE GLORYHOLE BAND WITH ME,DAN,PAT LALLY AND BRIAN TRUMAN WAS LIMITED TO 100 COPIES AND IS EXTINCT!!!
